Delete your account

In the DalaDish app

Open DalaDish and tap Me.
Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete my account.
Read the message, then tap Delete.

Your account is deleted straight away and you are signed out. This cannot be undone.

Signing out, or deleting the app from your phone, does not delete your account.

Without the app

Email privacy@daladish.co.za from the email address you use to sign in to DalaDish, and write "Delete my DalaDish account". We may ask you to confirm that it is you before we delete anything. We delete the account within 30 days, usually much sooner, and email you when it is done.

What we delete straight away

Your account: your email address and sign-in details.
Your first name and your 18+ confirmation.
Your daily targets.
Your ratings and favourites.
Your consent record and privacy choices.
Any request to join a household that is still waiting.

Your household

If you are the last person in your household, we also delete the household: its details and food choices (including allergies and a religious diet), its plan, its own recipes, its family codes and all its food photos.
If other people are still in it, the household stays with them. If you set it up, the adult who joined it first becomes its owner. Food photos and recipes you added stay with the household, without your name on them.

What we keep, and for how long

Feedback you sent us, with nothing linking it to you. Ask us if you want it removed too.
Emails you sent us, until we have dealt with them, and then only as long as we reasonably need a record, for example of your deletion request.
Backups roll off within 7 days, so your information is gone from them within 7 days of deletion.
Our service providers' short-term security logs, such as the record that a sign-in email was sent, which they delete under their own policies.

Only want to remove some information?

You can switch off allergies and daily targets, a religious diet, children's details and our emails in Me, then Your privacy choices. To have any information removed from our servers without deleting your account, email privacy@daladish.co.za.
